Pleasant View Housing Society operates a Campus of Care for adults living with mental health concerns in Mission, BC. Our employees include Health Care Workers who specialize in Mental Health, Support Workers (dietary and housekeeping), Chefs, and a variety of team members that include nursing, administration, and maintenance. We are currently hiring for:

Health Care Worker (casual); Housekeeping/Dietary (casual) and, Chef (casual)

All our employees must:

  • Be able to provide 2 direct work supervisor references
  • Provide a satisfactory TB screening test report
  • Agree to fully participate in infection control Medical Health Officer recommendations such as flu and COVID19 immunization programs
  • Pass a criminal record check that is screened specifically for working with vulnerable adults and seniors
  • Actively participate in our Continuing Education and Training Program
  • If called upon to do so, be available to work all shifts (days, afternoons and nights)
  • Be a team player who is always respectful to our clients, their families and other team members and volunteers
  • Hold and maintain a current food safe certification
  • Agree to complete a 24 hours free online certificate program, that teaches about mental health, on their own time before probationary period is completed.

Education

There are a number of mandatory educational in-services that team members are required to participate in regularly.  Mandatory education and other topics are posted. It is the responsibility of all team members to ensure they stay up-to-date with all mandatory education requirements, develop a personal education plan and make suggestions for education topics.

Pleasant View is committed to and supportive of additional education opportunities.  If a team member is considering pursuing educational opportunities outside of our organization, employees are encouraged to discuss this with Management so such endeavors can be reviewed for potential support.

Employee Wellness Program

It is the organization’s goal to support team members on a path of health and wellness.  The leadership team is available as a resource. The Emergency Employee Assistance Program may also be accessible.

Staff Immunization

We all have a responsibility to keep our environment as healthy and safe as possible for team members and clients.  It is required that all employees abide by and follow all public health recommendations including those for immunizations such as influenza and COVID 19.

Team Environment

Client care and services at Pleasant View are based on an interdisciplinary model.  In support of this approach, the importance of each team member is emphasized.  Interdisciplinary care planning ensures the participation of all team members and the recognition of each discipline’s perspective and expertise when assessing the care requirements of each Client.

Emergency Response Plan Overview

The Emergency Response Plan (ERP) contains information, procedures, and protocols designed to ensure that the employees and Clients of the facility are able to respond to an emergency or disaster in an effective, coordinated, and integrated manner.  The ERP is located in Administration and in designated nursing stations.
